Topshop Unique has never been a line afraid to break the mould – or, it seems, to stay within it. And that may not be a bad thing; this season, as we all tighten the proverbial belts (ahem), Unique has gone back to basics, producing a line of colourful, interesting, embellished and, infinitely (and importantly) wearable clothing.

fwdfwuniqueshowGraphic colours, chunky knit sweaters, printed trousers and neon bright nails and lips – now that’s sartorial optimism if ever I saw it. Unique is never really going to shock Anna Wintour with its take on what’s en vogue, but it will continue to produce clothes that those with the cash (not the credit) will want to fork out for.

Now, if only Topshop in Dublin would stock a larger range of Unique clothing. . . or maybe I just need an excuse to take a London trip. That don’t sound like a half bad plan, so it don’t.
