Mother Germany, day one
Please excuse the visual mediocrity of this post; I am in Berlin and my access to a laptop is, well, not there.
Things to report so far? Whoever said Cos was amazing – yes, UK Vogue, that means you – was lying. Dull colour schemes, duller designs and VERY short tops, of which I have never been a fan. Such a disappointment. Emerged empty-handed, which is not like me at all.
As usual, the foreigners beat us, hands-down, when it comes to plain ol’ side-of-the-road graffiti. There’s no “jockser was ere” going on in Berlin. Oh no.
Are Berliners stylish? I can’t decide. I did see an amazing woman today in a shrunken leather jacket, harem pants (which Topshop has inexplicably begun to spell “hareem”), black brogues and beautiful chestnut-brown hair, and there are quite a few examples of chic streetwear, but I haven’t quite been blown away. I plan on doing some Sartorialist-style papping tomorrow though, so I may change my mind on that one.
H&M is doing an amazing line in Star Wars clothing. I got a sick dress in there today, which I will hopefully showcase at a later stage, as well as a great chunky knit scarf (in purple though – I would be so much more chic if I could stick to a neutral palette) and a lovely printed kaftan. Way better than Cos, and much cheaper.
Oh – and Dublin airport is now officially amazing, if it weren’t for all the rude friskers and the crazy flyers. You know who you are. Tomorrow is bus touring, street snapping (how do you say “can I take your picture for my blog” in German?) and possibly some markets. Along with the Jewish museum. (I finished The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo on the plane so anti-Semitism is at the fore of my thoughts, it is brilliant, incidentally, and well worth reading.)
And that’s all folks! Until tomorrow, at the very least. Gotta love free wi-fi.

Hi Rosemary,
Hope you have fun in Berlin.
I wonder many folks in Dublin have visited the Irish Jewish Museum off of South Circular Road [I have].
