Style file – Sunday roast

So Sundays, for me, are usually a combination of catching up on work I’ve neglected during the week, scheduling blog posts for the week ahead, washing clothes, playing with the cat and, when I can fit it in, reading the Sunday papers (they just have too many supplements!). This Sunday was no exception, other than the fact that, instead of lounging around in my PJs all day I decided that I should get up, get dressed and do an outfit post. I hadn’t done one all week due to a very hectic few evenings and a very rainy few days, and was feeling a little guilty. More pics (including of my cat!) and deets…

So this is a pretty casual look, I know – but look at my cat! Her name is, embarrassingly enough, Mercedes (I was young, okay?) but since Ellen rechristened her, she goes by Marmie. I’ve been thinking lately that I really need to revamp my look, but I’m not really sure where to start – wanna do a serious bit of second-hand shopping, pick up some decent basics and work from there. I also really need to clean my biker boots, which have been downstairs, filthy since Electric Picnic in September… Lazy lazy.
The details? Ankle boots from Penneys one day when I went really crazy in the shoe section and snapped up about four pairs (I always have qualms about ankle boots because, in case you hadn’t noticed, I’m quite round of calf, but I’ve kind of given in to it now), blue tights from H&M, layered over black tights from Marks & Spencer, T-shirt dress from Asos, grey jersey drape blazer from Asos, skincolour support slip from Marks & Spencer, gold and black wrap bracelet from Asos, watch necklace from my Ma’s heyday.

Now, I’m not coming on to you or anything Rosemary, but I honestly was thinking ‘doesn’t she have nice shapely legs’ when I got to your round of calf comment. So, stop now, you’re lovely. As, indeed, is your moggie.

Thanks Blanaid! The dress is cool but in the middle it has the word “Amore” but in a mirror image, which freaks me out. I’m so anal about words…!
Emma, ta re the shapely legs comment but honestly, my calves are big – I don’t mind all that much except that I find it hard to buy boots that fit!
Eimear and Séamus, thanks – Marmie is defo the star here though!
