New York November 2009 042

My New York trip was never purely for “de shopping”, as the Irish folk calls it. Though I did venture into Abercrombie (more on which later), I managed to avoid the traps of Saks and Macy’s for the entire week, a time I spent in the company of my sister and her boyfriend, playing Mario on the Wii, watching movies, eating food and drinking delicious vino in the casa. In fact, Saturday was the first day I ventured into a clothing shop. Yes, believe it – I had managed to entirely avoid retail therapy for the whole week. I obviously wasn’t in need of much therapy, which can’t but be a good sign.

On Saturday, however, myself and the sister ventured into Manhattan for coffee, Abercrombie and some serious crowd-pushing. Then we retreated back to the comfort of Brooklyn for some thrift shopping and, eventually, dinner (Thai – yum!) while we watched The Girlfriend Experience (boooo-ring!) and Serenity (amaaaaa-zing!). Good times. Anyway, here’s what I wored.

So the details: in Park Slope in Brooklyn, wearing a Diane von Furstenberg coat with a bargainous €1 belt from Penneys, an Asos scarf, black opaques from Marks & Spencer, my trusty black flat boots from Topshop, navy, white and black silk dress from Warehouse, black cardigan from Bershka, black patent leather bag by Marni, and red hair totally fading already. A dye job is definitely on the cards.
