Topshop: more seasons than you could shake a stick at

So Topshop has released its transitional spring lookbook 2009/2010. What does this mean exactly? Layers. Topshop’s peeps have got super clever with their seasonal releases, and instead of expecting us all to don bikinis and light chiffons at the first sign of a daffodil, we’re being given the option to pair our delightful floral nudes with knits, tights, and some beautiful shoe boots. Colour me happy! Although I do have some questions, namely: when is Topshop going to acknowledge the sterling-euro exchange rate and start giving us good value, without forcing us to shop online to get it, and when is Topshop going to acknowledge that nobody in their right mind wants to look like an anorexic 14 year old – except, maybe, anorexic 14 year olds. To wit:

Topshop

What do I love? Floral leggings. Big shoulders. Socks with mary-jane shoes. Florals. Intarsia. Chunky knits. Any kind of animal on a jumper – ain’t that just the sweetest? (I’m watching True Blood so mah accent is being kinda influenced.) Topshop’s model shots are great, too: they look like they could be seriously high fashion, so kudos to the stylists and photographers for that side of it. No matter how much I complain, or how many false gods I worship (Warehouse, Monsoon), Topshop is the place you can always come back to for a last-minute outfit for a night out, for a day in, for a night and day out, and in. One-stop Topshop, you could say.

Keep an eye on Topshop, probably in mid-January, for the above items, and please do let me know if you see them before then!
